I enrolled my son and the director attempted to charge me fees that were never disclosed or in writing and never billed on schedule and when they did bill, they billed the incorrect amounts.
My son is autistic and they sent him to the director’s office almost every day. My son reported he was being bullied and his teacher encouraged the child accused of bullying him to continue. My son made a remark to the teacher and the teacher retaliated by not allowing my son to have a snack during snack time and threw away his lunch.
I sent an email stating my concerns and that I would be unenrolling my son. They never responded or had anything to say about the matter yet tried to charge one of my accounts after I pulled him out and stated in writing he would not be returning.
This place is the worst daycare experience we have ever had and they do not know how to address concerns for children with special needs. Furthermore, their enrollment process is very unorganized.
I hope things have changed. I hope the ghetto teacher that taught down in the basement is gone. She used to scream in the kid’s face. I would pick up my child and she would have the kids lined up against the wall like they were in the service. One time I went to pickup my child and she taking her braids out. The only reason why I gave it a two is because the director was nice but she was friends with this particular teacher.
Kid's Academy has been wonderful for my family. My child has attended Kid's Academy since she was an infant and we have had nothing but positive experiences. The staff is very caring and always helpful. They are attentive to the children. My child consistently comes home learning new things. It's wonderful to know my child is not only in a place where she is cared for but also a place where she is educated and enriched. So thankful to have found Kid's Academy. I can't say enough good things about them!
Kids Academy is a great childcare center. Everyone treats you like family and will teach and take wonderful care of your child(ren). I recommend Kids Academy for your childcare needs.
I am new to the area and just had a baby. I was looking for daycare centers in the area to accommodate my infant and my school aged child. I found Kids Academy online and called to schedule a tour. They informed me I didn’t need a tour and could stop in any time. I thought that was great, the fact that they weren’t worried about what I would walk in and see at any given time was reassuring. I arrived the next morning with my infant to view the place. It was around 11 which was the only time my baby would allow for me to leave the house since she had been fussy and hungry all morning. Also my other child is in school so it was a great time since I did not have him with me. When I arrived I buzzed the door and was welcomed by Anna ( or Amy but I’m almost positive it was Anna) she was a very nice young girl who said she took care of the toddlers. She was very nice and I noticed she knew the names of every child she saw while I was there. She started walking me around the daycare and showing me the rooms and telling me about how they do things there. She asked me about my baby and my other child and was over all super sweet, professional and someone I would trust to watch my children. She walked me through the lunch room where my experience declined drastically. A woman turned to me and said “who are you scheduled to see” as if I had done something wrong. I told her I didn’t have an appointment and when I called they said I didn’t need one. That’s when she said in a very rude condescending manner, “well of course you need an appointment we are in the middle of lunch” I apologized for coming at a bad time and she said not one more word to me. It was very awkward and made me feel very uncomfortable. She spoke to me this was in front of a room full of kids, too. Turns out she’s the director, Carrie Williamson. The name on the card that Anna gave me after trying really hard to break the awkward moment by telling me it’s not my fault I came when I did since they told me on the phone I didn’t need an appointment. I could feel the tension in this daycare between the staff. She hen walked me into another room so I could give them my contact information so someone could reach out to me. When I was filling out the paperwork Anna left the room and I heard her being scolded by the director about me being there as if it was her fault. “This is why we need to schedule appointments!” I heard her because she was yelling at the girl giving me the tour. I was appalled by her behavior. I was embarrassed for this facility. I work in customer service and can’t imagine treating a paying customer this way. It concerns me that this person is in charge of handling Children and I would definitely not trust her with mine. I found a daycare called stepping stones around the corner that I am very pleased with. I just wanted it to be known about my experience and how uncomfortable this person made me feel and how the feeling in this place was a negative one. Not to mention I have yet to receive the phone call of them following up with my inquiry to send my children there. Completely unprofessional. Except for Anna, she was great.
